Our focus for beginner all-level classes is to teach basic movements, body/situational awareness to better their position against an opponent using technique, respect and good sportsmanship. We teach submissions, sweeps and chokes from various positions and most importantly, how to defend against it! From there your child will learn everything they need to prepare for real-life scenarios and advanced competition training.

Competition Training

One of the biggest benefits to children competing in BJJ is the life lessons they receive when losing and the pride they feel when winning! Learning to lose with dignity and realizing that it is not the end of the world is huge in a child's success. Jiu-Jitsu is a highly competitive sport that builds friendships and provides life lessons.

Tournaments can help enrich our personal journeys by enlarging our scope and perspective of other communities, helping us develop the skills to process adversity in a positive way. Here at Journey Jiu Jitsu in Carrollton, we are dedicated to providing advanced kids competition training to help prepare, coach and introduce your child to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions leading them to success! 

Our kid's "ALL LEVELS" classes are designed for any level ranging from beginner-advanced primarily focusing on fundamentals and skills alike. Your child will learn how to work together with others, and increase their strength and agility, all while making friendships.

This class will include things like stretching, warm-ups, exercise, technical jiu-jitsu movements, group drills, and activities followed by games. Together we can work to reach your child's martial arts goals. We are all champions here at Journey!

Kids Competition Training (Advanced) ages 6-12 

Competition Training classes are designed for our youth members with an interest or passion in competitive jiu-jitsu. This is where they can apply learned skills and put them to the test in a safe environment. We focus on preparing our students by supporting and pushing them to reach their highest goals.

Students in competition training/advanced classes should have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and are ready to try more modern techniques. Students will gain more experience sparring(rolling) with other advanced athletes as well as maintain proper focus/discipline in class at all times.
